Ant Eradication & Control Wellington

Ants are one of the most successful groups of insects with over 3000 known species. They are social insects that live in large colonies which are located in the ground or walls, basements and ceilings of buildings.

Ants can be a major nuisance in households and businesses, getting into foodstuffs and running around bench-tops and other areas. In some instances they can cause electrical and mechanical problems around wall sockets and hot water cylinders.

Ant Control Process

01.
Correct identification.

Some species can be best controlled with insecticide baits, while others may require more traditional methods of control such as cavity injections or surface spraying.

02.
Location of the nest.

Nest location is important, or at least for determining if the Ants are coming from or going to a structure.

03.
Baiting.

This is often the most effective way to control some Ant species or minor infestations.

04.
New Technology Spraying.

We now use an effective specially designed chemical to the outside/cavities of the building that the Ant walks through and takes back to destroy the nest. It should be noted that control of an Ant colony using this method is a slow process and may take up to 2-3 weeks for nest eradication. However, for those customers looking for longer term control this would be the recommended method. Usually you no longer need to vacate your premises during and after this treatment.

05.
Non chemical control methods.

These may include one or more of the following: removing potential food sources such as pet food, remove plants attractive to Ants, good sanitation and hygiene, and sealing pipe and utility line entrances.

Exit Pest is experienced in Ant identification, location and eradication of nests, and choosing the right control method for your specific situation.
